Still Here!
Can’t believe I haven’t updated this blog since last April!
I’m still running, though not as much as I think I should be. I’ve kind of lost focus …maybe I need a challenge of some sort to aim for? Like a marathon maybe? I fancy having a go at one, but it’s a long way and it’ll probably hurt a bit
If I did decide to have a bash at one I’d be looking for a half decent time – by my standards that’d be in region of 3.30 to 3.45 maybe. I did have a nose at the London Marathon website. Assuming I don’t run for a charity (how do people raise all the sponsorship money?) you’re guaranteed a place at the latest in your fifth year of applying. I dunno, can’t seem to make my mind up.
Also, I’ve got my dad’s old road bike …a Pete Matthews bike, but with wheels from Dave Hindes (poor URL redirect). I’ve been out only a couple of times and really enjoyed it. I’ve also got a spare Dave Lloyd Bikesport frame in the garage that I’m tempted to build up as a single speed bike, but not fixed wheel, well probably not. Not sure what bits I need but I’ll need a pair of wheels and chainset at the least.
I’m still meeting up with my old mate Mike and I run with Graham from up the road whenever we can fix something up.
Orrysdale Road
Late run today, out the door at 5.30pm.
Did the Orrysdale Rd circuit. Got caught at the level crossing and my lace came undone. So those are two really good excuses why I was just outside a 31 – I came in on 32.06
Beach Bum
Did Riversdale Rd circuit this lunchtime with a slight variant in that from the bottom of Kings Gap I ran along the beach to Red Rocks. Up onto the sandstone and around to the bottom of Stanley Rd and then the route as per normal.
Lovely Day
Great day for a trot today. Seem to be getting over ear ache/sore throat malarkey too so that’s good.
Steady run down along the prom to Meols and along the embankment. Back home via the caravan park, Guffitts Rake, Forest Road and the main road.
Flap jacks just cooling …ready to eat later!
ooh Bit Of Sunshine
Left it until after 6pm to go out for a trot down to Red Rocks and back. Going crap but enjoyed the fresh air!
Orrysdale Road
Made myself run today when sitting on my backside held a far greater attraction. Orrysdale Rd in what can kindly be referred to as a casually paced.
Red Rocks This Evening
Sounds like an uncomfortable condition for men. Almost. But it was in fact an evening run down the bottom of Stanley Road and back. Deceptively windy. 26.28 so no great shakes there.
Ran But Not Blogged
hmmm Can’t remember a few runs now. Haven’t jotted them down and now I can’t recall them.
Out With Graham
A rather windy day for a run around the Orrysdale Rd circuit with Graham.
West Kirby Sailing Club
Windy day for a run along West Kirby prom to the sailing club
