Did the usual Sunday morning run route this lunchtime. Not the greatest of routes on a weekday with traffic around and I did get help up just a little with the barriers on the railway crossing at Hoylake.
My legs did feel a bit better today having felt stiff as hell for the last few days - age is a terrible thing!

Bit on the old chilly side today so I dug out my hat and gloves and wore 3 tops just to be on the safe side. Too hot? No, not really. Just removed the gloves after 25 mins.
Missed the last couple of days for one reason and another so fancied a trot out today. Did my Riversdale Rd loop (clockwise). Got stopped by a “he’s just a bit playful” puppy … that puppy is going to be one bloody big fully grown dog! Other than that, uneventful.
Bad back is reminding me it hasn’t gone.

My legs were somewhat stiff today after yesterdays 8 miler. Coldest day of the winter so far I reckon. The bright sun soon disappeared late on today as the fog moved on in.
Did my Red Rocks loop only went out along Market Street. I’m sure this route is shorter and I did Navman it today but I heard a few beeps so I’m not sure if the recording is correct. Will clock it again soon.
Might have a day off tomorrow.

Went out for a longer run today and covered a new loop.
Along the prom and then Meols Drive to West Kirby. Down Banks Road and follow it round to the Moby Dick. Then along to Caldy but rather than continuing to do my Caldy loop take the sharp right and run down the car park on The Wirral Way. Then along the Wirral Way back to West Kirby and retrace.
Started well. Felt a bit grim around the 8k mark. Quite cool today but no wind for the first time in a week or so. Forgot to tape up so left nipple is a little tender. No drink either which was probably a mistake too.

Met up with Mike today for a bit of trot around our old favourite Park Loop circuit. The rain managed to hold off and it wasn’t as cold as I thought it was.
Steady run, neither of us feeling on top form. Quite enjoyed it.

Headed off up Market Street with the intention of doing around 8km. But then it started raining so I thought sod this for a lark. I turned up Kings Gap and ran down to Red Rocks. Wind not quite as bad as yesterday.
The Navman didn’t seem to like the heavy cloud cover and missed out a far whack of the run. So I’ll continue to assume that this one is still 5.51 km.
No encounters with barmy artists today.

….the wind was ridiculous today along Hoylake prom to Kings Gap. Really bloody hard going. Really. Still, the rain had stopped coming down in bucket loads.
Didn’t have much time today so only managed to get down to Red Rocks. Of course the return leg was a tad easier. When I got back to Hoylake prom for some really strange reason two blokes were sat on stools, both painting water colours. One of them shouted out that I was mad running in this weather. And you’re not mate?
Not the fastest of times today. Can’t think why !

Had intended to do a 10k’er today but the strong wind on the prom down to Meols put me off. So I ended up doing my Brickworks circuit though clockwise for the first time. This loop is 7.58 km but todays effort was a bit shorter due a start on the prom so call it approx 7.2km

Went out today whilst the rain held off. For whatever reason I just felt awful all the way around today. I was sort of hoping to be going well and I’d bank a longish run in having missed yesterday (bad back strikes again!).
But as soon as I started, I felt slow. The in-yer-face strong wind all the way up Hoylake prom didn’t help either. Decided to turn for home when I reached Red Rocks at the bottom of Stanley Road. Paused the watch whilst I stood still to take in the view …must be a bit hairy for the residents of Hilbre Island in the winds of recent days. Actually, I’m not sure if it’s just the warden and his wife who live on the Island.
As the Polar did some strange things the stats aren’t accurate.

Back out running today - the first run since last Wednesday. My back is a bit better (though at time of writing, 21.15, it’s playing up again) and I didn’t feel it at all whilst I was running.
Needed a run today! It’s funny, when I’m running each day I can feel it in my legs and sometimes I just don’t fancy it. But give it a miss for just a few days and I start to feel really sluggish and I need to have some exercise.
Did my Riversdale Rd (clockwise) circuit this lunchtime. Weather wasn’t that bad really, mild and the wind wasn’t too bad. It’s awful again now and is forecast to be so tomorrow (so says my fave browser firefox plugin). Didn’t go mad today….trotted around.
