Its Faster In The Dark

As I work from home I tend to go running during the day, around 1pm. This Saturday however I went out in the dark. Is it just me or does it always seem like you’re going faster when it’s dark? In my cycling days, when I used to go out on my bike after work in the dark I remember that it always felt like I was really moving - I probably wasn’t even doing evens (20mph). Must have been the dynamo powering the lights on my modified Soens track bike.

Anyways, avoiding the wind down on the prom I ran through Hoylake up along Market Street, upto West Kirby, along the prom to the sailing club and back home via Banks Rd. Here’s the map of this straight’ish road circuit. Call it 9km
