Back Out After Nearly A Week
Back in my trainers today after a near week long break for various reasons. Nice and mild but a deceptive breeze about. Various aches and pains from my joints for some reason, though possibly largely due to barrowing very heavy flags to and around the now shed adorned allotment.
Riversdale Road circuit today in a sluggish 40.nn - not too impressive.
A Windy Day Again
Another windy day on West Wirral saw me trudging around my Riversdale Rd circuit.
Sneakily tried to avoid some of the stiff breeze by running upto West Kirby first to attempt to benefit from a tail wind down on the sand.
Would’ve been happier with a sub 40, but not too bad considering.

Last Run Of 2007
Finished off this years running with a trip around my Riversdale Rd circuit.
Running along the beach in the dusk made for a change and I’ve convinced myself that it’d be daft to run this circuit when it’s completely dark.
Slow again, but signs of returning fitness on the return home.

Back !
Hooray, I’m back out pounding the streets of Hoylake!
Still not 100% but what remains of this most annoying, lingering cold passes the above the neck test so I decided it was high time to get back out.
Did my Riversdale Rd circuit in a terribly slow time this afternoon but (a) I wasn’t bothered about time and (b) I was just going steady. I can feel it in my legs this evening - you soon lose your fitness.
Another 8 and bit km closer to my target of 1000km for the year - looks like I’ll crawl past that marker. Liverpool half marathon (not entered yet) only about 2 months away ….need to get back into shape sharpish and then some.

A Good Soaking
Went out this lunchtime and got soaked on my Riversdale Rd loop. It was somewhat grey with a bit that fine rain before I set off but it turned to proper rain by the time I was on the beach. Tad windy too for good measure.
Not surprisingly there weren’t any dog walkers out today, just a few twitchers (bird watchers) stood in the rain with their telescopes. We exchanged knowing smiles… yes, we must be mad.
On the plus side my new trainers didn’t seem to absorb too much water and I was pleased with myself for venturing out in weather I’m too keen on.

Eaton Rifles. Eating Trifles
A classic mis-heard lyric there! Topical too as I’ve been eating (lots of) trifle this weekend and was listening to The Jam on my run today. I know, I know, I do lead such an exciting life.
And a right grotty old day it was too! Cool, damp, windy with slate grey skies. Managed to make myself run around my Riversdale Rd circuit. Headwind on the way home which is unusual. Back home for a shower and a heart warming salad (mmmm). But no more trifle.

Riversdale This Morning
Out with Graham again this Sunday morning for a trot around the Riversdale Rd loop. Had I not arranged to go running with Graham then I wouldn’t have done …had a banging head yesterday, awoke at 3am with one and didn’t feel too great this morning either.
Graham went well and only faded at the end of after probably pushing it a bit too hard along the prom. I finished in 39.22, about 20 secs ahead.
I’ve continued to have a dull head all day.

Sunday Morning Run With A Mate
Out at 10am this morning to do Riversdale with mate and neighbour Graham.
Probably a little further than normal for Graham so I thought he put in a really good performance. With a time of just outside 40mins it wasn’t too bad a pace for an early morning run.
