Running Outside

Did Riversdale Rd circuit this lunchtime with a slight variant in that from the bottom of Kings Gap I ran along the beach to Red Rocks. Up onto the sandstone and around to the bottom of Stanley Rd and then the route as per normal.

Plodded around my Riversdale Road circuit. Plodding being the operative word as I was going bleeding awful. Think I’m over my strain  but not over my cold.  Over 42 minutes …that’s almost shocking.

Looks like there’s going to be some grafting to be had.

Lovely and sunny though down on the beach to West Kirby.

Back to about 3c today with a bit of wind thrown in for a spot of chill !

Haven’t been down on the shore for a short while so made amends this morning. Did Riversdale Road in the drizzle.

Gave it a miss yesterday …just didn’t fancy it.

After a 10 minute warm up I increased the tempo a little bit for about 20 mins before easing off again. Some little, yappy dog took a fancy to my ankles down on the beach …owner typically unreactive.

Feeling a little below par these last couple of days. But just had a cake …egg custard …so that’ll do the trick

Rather wet and rather windy too this Sunday morning. Didn’t have enough of a “window” for a longer run but managed to squeeze in around 50 mins.

Up through Hoylake, Cinder Path, Bridge Rd then over the zebra crossing and down Riversdale Rd to the beach. Headed to Red Rocks along the board walk. Nearly did the splits when slipping on a wet wooden step. Got blown home from Red Rocks.

Got back to the tennis courts to see that a running event had obviously taken place. Turns out it was this …see I told you it was windy (so hats off to a rather decent time there!). Started reading that chaps blog after I spotted he runs up Moel Famau

…the dog that came bounding out the marshy stuff on West Kirby beach nearly bit my backside today. I was starting to get worried before the delayed reactions of the owner saved my leggings.

Did my Riversdale Rd circuit with a few pacy bits included.

..down by the sea! No sun beating down though.

Riversdale Road circuit again today only going along the boardwalk on the beach from West Kirby to Red Rocks. Not going great at the moment, which is rather disappointing considering I’ve been doing a bit recently. Might give it a miss tomorrow and then do some hill reps on Saturday.

On the plus side Sarah and her two young assistants have baked a coconut cake today – I’ll be fulfilling my role as chief cake taster later !

I tend to feel the cold, so that’s what’s happening at the moment. Long pants weather for sure!

Riversdale Rd circuit today as I’ve not done it for a while and I’m feeling rebellious enough to stick two fingers up to the 10km training schedule. Didn’t go out yesterday ‘cos we took the girls to see the fair and lights at Blackpool – suffice it to say I’m not Blackpool’s biggest fan.

Started off feeling good today but drifted back and finished in a time that I wasn’t happy with.

Well it was kind of like a summers day today – not quite as good as I was expecting but certainly a lot warmer than of late. Went out at about 5ish and did Riversdale again. Around a minute slower today compared to Monday for some reason? Anyway, nice to be out and about. All hot and bothered when I got home.
