Spotted This

I like this photo.

Not much running from me last few days. Dad has been a bit poorly and weather has been unpleasant. See how this week goes.

Snap Happy

I took a rest day yesterday, it was pouring down today when I had the chance to go running and I might struggle to get out tomorrow.

But to keep this running blog plodding along here’s a mention of my budding flickr account. There’s a few bits and bobs in there at the moment and not too yet much in the way of running related stuff. There’s just a few of many I’ve got for Hoylake’s new lifeboat station (shown here  irregularly). I’ve just got my first flickr mate too (cheers Steve).

I’ve never been remotely arty at all (and some/most of my handcrafted websites back this up!) but I do find taking photos quite interesting and rewarding and it could well be something I develop an interest in.

If you like photos by the way, one blog you might want to subscribe to is inphotos by Co. Cork based Donncha O Caoimh (one of the team behind wordpress).

Slanty Trees

Windblown TreesI keep telling you it’s windy in Hoylake and here’s photographic proof. The trees that can be seen adjacent to our Municipal golf course and next to the Cinder path have clearly been affected by the prevailing NW winds.

The winds normally blow from the direction of West Kirby and these trees are leaning towards Hoylake.

Flapjacks!

flapjacks.jpg

Long overdue I’d say though Sarah would say otherwise - a fresh batch of totally ace homemade flapjacks!

This batch were not long out of the oven this afternoon and were a bit too hot for a taste test. Had one (okay, it was two, but they were small ones) with a cup of tea last night and they were spot on.

Makes up for getting soaked earlier.

What A Grey Day

hoylake fogI did doubt myself. Then I found this:

Gray is a color.

Grey is a colour.

It was foggy today in old Hoylake town. Has been all day. Bit on the cool side too down on Hoylake Promenade late this afternoon. I took the photo this morning at about 8.20 - the fog has lifted a lot but it is still lingering. What strange weather we’re seeing this week.

Walking eldest to dancing and then did my shortened Riversdale Rd circuit. A little bit slower than I would have preferred. Didn’t real feel like going out today - so I promised myself a homemade scone after tea as a little reward if I went running. I know, I know …but it worked, I went out!
