January 15th, 2008 — marine lake, running
Did Marine Lake again today - only slower by about a minute! Seemed to lose time in the last 3km or so. Nevermind, it was a decent session combined with yesterdays.
It was really quite cool when I set off and I could clearly see my breath running along the prom in Hoylake. Reaching the wall of Marine Lake it was a different story - the sun was out and it was much warmer and I was too hot in my hat and gloves.
Day off tomorrow I suspect.
Stats to come.

Out for a longer(ish) one today and did my Marine Lake circuit. Bit breezy on the outward ..deceptive really ‘cos I didn’t think there was that much wind around. Quite a few people walking around the lake for a Monday lunchtime.
Wasn’t going for it at all so 12.20 average will do for today. Legs are a little stiff this evening though.

Out mid morning today to avoid the forecasted rain. Back in my shorts and top today with it being on the mild side. Windy again of course, just about in my face all the way to the top end of Marine Lake. Not the fastest of times today (and when I locate my watch I’ll tell you what it was) but I’m happy enough with an 11k’er ….closing in my 1000km target for the year now.
It’s evening now (and nearly pub time!) and my legs are really sore to touch so I guess I must’ve worked at it earlier today.

A steady run this lunchtime, managing to get around my Marine Lake circuit. Didn’t really feel like going out today but felt better for it afterwards. Some dog fancied me for lunch but fortunately it was on a lead so it went hungry. Decent breeze out again today after the lull on Saturday.

Did my Marine Lake circuit today in the pleasant, warm sunshine. Shame there was a stiff’ish breeze around. A nice improvement on yesterdays October weather.
Started well, though maybe it was wind assisted? Stiffened up a little towards the end but overall the time will do.
80th recorded run of the year. Doesn’t sound that many really.

Spurred on by my desire to do a 20mile week I ventured out this afternoon. I went out about 5pm. It wasn’t raining at that point in time. Even though I was always crap at probability in maths at school even I knew it would probably rain. It did.
It absolutely, well and truely poured down. And then some. Mike is always telling me you can only so wet but that’s just not true Mike!
Didn’t lose my sense of humour though. Just running along the prom to home when a new track starts on my Sony. Smiths (sorry, old habits die hard!)… William It Was Really Nothing of which we all know that the first line is The rain falls hard on a humdrum town. Too bleedin right it does.
But the good news is ‘cos I did my Marine Lake circuit which is about 11k (6+ miles) I’ve managed to do a 20mile week - I’m almost up there with furious from Frodsham.
Sunnier weather next week - off to Nice. Taking my trainers. If they are dry.
*Update: I’ve added the stats. Not the fastest of times for this circuit. Went about .5 kph faster on this recent Marine Lake attempt.

Did my Marine Lake loop circuit today for the first time in ages and I quite enjoyed it despite the strong breeze. Actually, whilst there was a good breeze about it only seemed to hit me along West Kirby prom on the way home.
Enjoyed it today - nice steady pace, music on loud. Legs are stiff though and I guess not helped by doing a good weeding session down on the weediest allotment in Hoylake. No bleeding rain either!
Half decent average speed that - that wind was helpful in parts though, maybe it was more helpful than not.

March 15th, 2007 — marine lake, running, weather
Did my Marine Lake loop today. Picked the wrong time of day to go ‘cos the sunshine had gone and it had turned cool. Fortunately the rain held off until I literally arrived back at home. Still slowish but hey ho, on the way up I suppose. Proper headphones on my Sony mp3 were stacks better than the cheapo pair I bought from Tesco. No running tomorrow - checking my broadbeans.

Well nearly, 10.95km today. Not going amazing and felt like I was somewhat ploddy in parts. Bit of a breeze out down on West Kirby front. I ran upto West Kirby, around Marine Lake to the sailing club, back along the prom and then along the sand to Red Rocks and home.
