Running Outside

Pounding the streets of Hoylake and beyond.

Back !

Hooray, I’m back out pounding the streets of Hoylake!

Still not 100% but what remains of this most annoying, lingering cold passes the above the neck test so I decided it was high time to get back out.

Did my Riversdale Rd circuit in a terribly slow time this afternoon but (a) I wasn’t bothered about time and (b) I was just going steady. I can feel it in my legs this evening - you soon lose your fitness.

Another 8 and bit km closer to my target of 1000km for the year - looks like I’ll crawl past that marker. Liverpool half marathon (not entered yet) only about 2 months away ….need to get back into shape sharpish and then some.

    Mike says:

Soon lose your fitness - tell me about it!

With my injuried knee and back coupled with a seven week lingering cold, I’ve been running off and on with no real consistency.

I did go for a longer lunchtime run last week over very muddy, wet, and slippy farmer’s fields. I will find out the distance soon… but it did take me just a little over 41 minutes to complete.

As you indicated , sometimes it is better not to worry about your time and just place on trainer in front of the other one for a reasonable distance - which is exactly what you did!

    Any way, get better soon!
