Last Run Of 2007
Finished off this years running with a trip around my Riversdale Rd circuit.
Running along the beach in the dusk made for a change and I’ve convinced myself that it’d be daft to run this circuit when it’s completely dark.
Slow again, but signs of returning fitness on the return home.

Red Rocks: Slowly
Dear me, a very slow Red Rocks run today. Probably slowest of the year. Not easy this running lark!

Boxing Day Hunt
The hunt for fitness that is. Below (my) par but nice to be out. Plodded around my Cinder Path circuit and met quite a few Christmas walkers down on the prom on the way home. Bit breezy but not too cold out - saved my new Christmas hat for another day.

Back !
Hooray, I’m back out pounding the streets of Hoylake!
Still not 100% but what remains of this most annoying, lingering cold passes the above the neck test so I decided it was high time to get back out.
Did my Riversdale Rd circuit in a terribly slow time this afternoon but (a) I wasn’t bothered about time and (b) I was just going steady. I can feel it in my legs this evening - you soon lose your fitness.
Another 8 and bit km closer to my target of 1000km for the year - looks like I’ll crawl past that marker. Liverpool half marathon (not entered yet) only about 2 months away ….need to get back into shape sharpish and then some.

Still Ill
Not ill in the true sense of the word but unfortunately I still haven’t shook off this lingering cold. Not coughing so much now but felt bloody awful yesterday and had a cracking sore throat.
Suppose it shows how much I need to run now - I feel totally unfit and am really looking forward to getting back into my trainers and hitting Hoylake promenade.
Coughing
Damn and blast!
I’ve got a bleeding annoying cough …the sort that really comes in to it’s own as soon as you lie down in bed. So, a dreadful nights sleep prevailed and now I’ve got a sore chest with all the coughing. See if I can blast it by drinking mugs of hot water with a slice of lemon.
Wasn’t bothered yesterday ‘cos it was so wet but it’s not too bad today and it’s nice and mild. Hey-ho, first cold of the season so that’s not bad going.
Windy
Went out with Graham this Sunday morning for a bit of a run. Had I not arranged it I wouldn’t have gone out ‘cos I’ve acquired a bit of a cough and it would have been easy to talk myself out of it.
Up through Hoylake and along the Cinder Path. Through the alley and over the footbridge. Graham fancied a sea breeze so we went down Lang Lane and onto the beach. Talk about windy! A strong side wind made itself known til we reached Red Rocks. From then on we simply got blown home.
7 ish km I reckon. I’ll have to map it.
