Back In Lycra

Much warmer this Saturday evening so I threw off my long pants and slipped into a pair of lycra shorts (steady, steady!).

Really can’t be doing with the X-Factor so I left Mum and our darling tombliboos to watch it whilst I sneaked out. Another shortish run down to Red Rocks and back in about 25:10 so not too bad. Actually, I think a lesser amount of running this week has given my sore(ish) right ankle a bit of a rest - I didn’t really notice it today but had done on my last couple of outings.

Running Outside As A Search

I know it’s boring but search marketing is what I do sometimes so I find it interesting that this blog is currently ranking first page for the phrase running outside and that’s another bit of blatant anchor text for me). Try it and see if it still is.

Furious is up there too.

What do you rank for?

Red Rocks But A Grey Sky

A right old grey day today …I suspect our country does grey days better than anywhere else.

Feel like doing a long run but only had time for Red Rocks today as we were meeting Chris and family for the afternoon. Need to do a bit of DIY over the next day or so before the decorators arrive to revamp our lounge but I’ll see if I can sneek out to do my Wirral Way circuit - it should be lovely now that it’s autumn.

Time I Was In Long Pants

Bloomin’ chilly today so I dug out my long bottoms this late afternoon for a short run down to Red Rocks and back. Noticeably colder today I thought though admittedly I was warm when I finished. Still feel my right ankle a bit now and then.

Sunday Morning Run With A Mate

Out at 10am this morning to do Riversdale with mate and neighbour Graham.

Probably a little further than normal for Graham so I thought he put in a really good performance. With a time of just outside 40mins it wasn’t too bad a pace for an early morning run.

Bit More Like It

Had another bash at my Riversdale Rd loop today and went a lot better than Monday. Pretty much windless today though and that helped somewhat. Got a noticeably sore right lower shin/ankle for some reason.

Still A Bit Ploddy

Went out today in my new trainers (post to come) which were great but I’m not too happy with my form at the moment. Sneaked inside 40 mins for Riversdale which I’m not made up about, though there was a decent breeze about. Still, warm enough for mid October.

Sherwin Too Strong For Cronin

Met up with Mike today for our regular run and I found it hard going.

A bit under 10k and I trailed in nearly 1:30 behind Mike.

To be updated ….going to the pub now for some Guinness - my iron levels must be low!

Update…

Liverpool Half Marathon 2008

Who fancies it then?

I know it’s only like a warm up for Steve but what do you reckon Mike, Chris? Just think of all the cakes you can eat due to a bit more training! Or you could drink more beer perhaps.

I left applying til late this year and then was under the weather shortly beforehand and ended up not doing it. Really want to have a bash next year so will enter soon. Be nice to better my effort of ‘06.

You could apply now via here.
