Gear
Polar arrived back today. According to the jobsheet, the PCBA thing needed replacing. So it’s been repaired and reset - so the diary info has all been wiped, which is a shame. Setting the watch up again is a royal pain in the arse ‘cos the user interface and the instructions are dreadful.
Tried a new battery in the Navman this morning and left it on my desk for 5 mins - still beeped away merrily. Had to resort to reading the instruction manual after suspecting I’d somehow managed to switch the training zones on (which I now seem to recall activating back on holiday in Nice Port).
Will give the Navman another test run next time out.

John,
Is it time to upgrade your gear? I am hoping to get a nice Polar or Garmin jobby fro my birthday/christmas. Then I will finally get to see what my heart rate is when I run.

Must be nearly due for some new shoes though I guess.
