Promenade Des Anglais #2
Exact same route as the first run only out early in the morning.
Loads of other runners out. Passed quite a few which is nice. A few passed me and that’s not so nice.
Back at the apartment to carbo load on a selection of tasty treats from the local boulangerie. I’m sure I’d go faster if I didn’t have such a weakness for cakes.

Promenade Des Anglais #1
Took my trainers to Nice and managed to get a couple of runs in.
No rain, lots of sun and hot temperatures. Bit hot for me really so I had no intention of giving it some welly.
Walked down to Nice Port and simply ran along the Promenade Des Anglais, past The Negresco for a couple of minutes and then turned back.
No HR info ‘cos being the bright spark that I am, I left the chest strap at home.

Soaked
Spurred on by my desire to do a 20mile week I ventured out this afternoon. I went out about 5pm. It wasn’t raining at that point in time. Even though I was always crap at probability in maths at school even I knew it would probably rain. It did.
It absolutely, well and truely poured down. And then some. Mike is always telling me you can only so wet but that’s just not true Mike!
Didn’t lose my sense of humour though. Just running along the prom to home when a new track starts on my Sony. Smiths (sorry, old habits die hard!)… William It Was Really Nothing of which we all know that the first line is The rain falls hard on a humdrum town. Too bleedin right it does.
But the good news is ‘cos I did my Marine Lake circuit which is about 11k (6+ miles) I’ve managed to do a 20mile week - I’m almost up there with furious from Frodsham.
Sunnier weather next week - off to Nice. Taking my trainers. If they are dry.
*Update: I’ve added the stats. Not the fastest of times for this circuit. Went about .5 kph faster on this recent Marine Lake attempt.

Draycott Double
Met up with the most improving Meols runner this lunchtime for our first session together. I’ve called this post the Draycott Double because I ended up running both of Chris’s current circuits - his prom circuit and his water works circuit.
Starting at the apex of the bowling green I ran to met Chris at his house (2.42km, double it to give 4.84km for the prom circuit). Then we did his Water Works circuit (4.74 km in 23.24 = 12.15 kph). Then we had a chat in the sun in his garden and then I ran back home again.
Of course I left my watch running - so it’s been going for over 8 hours now, killing the battery no doubt. Stats are cocked then!

13km With Some Sun
Well it was supposed to be peeing down earlier today - but that didn’t happen until about 8.30 tonight when it really, really did.
So, not having done much last week I decided to do a bit more today and do my Wirral Way circuit. Bit breezy here and there but warm, dry and sometimes sunny too. Not going brill and I’m not sure why but my legs are really stiff at the moment …perhaps I’m not doing enough! Bit of stretching probably needed.

Allotment and Red Rocks
Walked youngest around to dancing. Ran down to plot 69. Watered stuff and then ran down to Red Rocks on yet another windy day. Legs are currently stiff as heck.
As I started from the bottom of Hoyle Rd I reckon that adds a few metres to this circuit.

Huh? why cant I add a title??
Red Rocks and back this afternoon. Bit of a strong wind on the outward - didn’t fight it as I wasn’t really in the mood. Just scraped inside a 26 - not too impressive.
Chris …be gentle with me this week.

Bit Of Rain. Lot Of Wind
Did Red Rocks circuit and my back didn’t bother me (it is a bit now). The wind, however did bother me as it was more than a tad windy on the outward leg, especially along the prom. It tried to rain too. Lovely weather for the time of year. Last year it was alot dryer, warmer, etc

New Site Is Headache Inducing
Been tinkering with wordpress all morning for a little keyless phone project that I’m playing with and I’ve got a headache. So now that I’ve just given google a subtle backlink for the new site I’m going for a run, even though I pulled a back muscle putting my socks on yesterday (agony last night!)
Allotment and Red Rocks
Going bleeding awful. Felt really tight today - legs stiff for some reason.
