Liverpool vs Chester

Disappointing though it is, I’ve taken the decision not to run the Liverpool Half Marathon.

Although I’ve been “looking foward” to it for a long while, with my recent drop in form due to the dreaded lurgee I’d just be totally hammering myself. And as I find distance running hard enough as it is, that’s not too appealing. Best of luck to Steve and the other chaps in his gang.

So, plan B. The 2007 Chester Half Maraton in May. On the assumption I can get in (will enter tomorrow) I’ll have enough time to get myself back into reasonable shape.

Talking of getting the miles in. After reading about Steves’ mate Matt banging a 100 in (I subscribe to Matts’ blog) on his road bike, I’ve got to admit the temptation to get back into being a roadie is certainly there. It’s not safe though is it on our manic roads? Last time I was really into it I didn’t have anyone to think about other than myself. Getting knocked off (which has happened, luckily not hurt at all) wouldn’t only affect me now. But I do fancy it.

    Probably a sound decision.

I hope you get in Chester Half - please let me know how you get on.

Ah bum. You’ll know by now that Chester is full (I think they’ve got some club entries spare if that’s any use?).

If its any consolation I’ve got brown stuff in my lungs and havs suspended training. I WILL get better :)
