It’s Just The Wirral Way
Went for a longer one today. Did this circuit (now named my wirral way circuit) again only did the Wirral Way on the outward leg instead. Not as windy as it was during the night but windy nevertheless. The prom just isn’t nice in the wind. Remembered to tape my left nipple (right one never boths me) and carried some water too this time. Didn’t help though really ‘cos I managed to make really hard work of it.
Thing is, now that I’ve finally got my allotment (blog updated needed) I need to better manage my (day) time whilst I get the very overgrown plot kind of sorted. So the current plan is perhaps to do longer runs every other day and on the rest day I’ll walk down to plot 69 and do some digging (actually, I read an article t’other day that suggests that us men need to be out in the fresh air doing things - like digging in soil full of weeds - to keep us sane and happy … hunter/gatherer stuff I guess).
Ideally I’d do both every day but I need to work on long over-due revamps of credit card sites and such like to avoid street begging. Roll on light summer evenings when there’s always more time to do things.
Not at all sure why Navman says it’s 360m shorter today?

Dear Training Diary
I’ve decided to start keeping a log of my running. Further to this post I’ve plumped for google spreadsheets rather than excel. That way my stats are available from either my pc or my laptop - so no faffing around with memory sticks and such like.
I’ve used google spreasheets on and off for a while for some analyse of some of my affiliate marketing activity. Whilst it’s not currently a rival for excel, it does most of what I need it plus your data is online, shareable (if you want) and it’s free.

Continuing a theme…
Did my Red Rocks circuit again today (in my new shoes). Not feeling great before I started out, iffy nights sleep due to an annoying cough that is lingering. Another bloody windy day too.
Now, I actually went a minute faster than last time but by ‘eck did I feel awful for most of the run. The split to the bottom of Kings Gap wasn’t too shabby considering the wind so maybe I paid for the starting effort for the rest of the run. Felt really dreadful at the end. Still, a short 25 for this circuit isn’t too bad on a windy day.

Oh Dear (2)
After yesterdays run I had another bash at it this evening. Bleedin’ windy on the outward leg, really bleedin’ windy that made for a hard effort. Thankfully got to the turn at Red Rocks and sort of got blown home. Didn’t really make the most of it though ‘cos I could feel my trainer rubbing my right heel a fair bit. When I got back home and took the shoe off it was evident why I could feel some discomfort - my sock had a nice red blood stain where the shoe had been rubbing my heel. The lining in the shoe has torn and that must be the cause of the rub. Hadn’t realised that I bought them back in May. Outlet Village (Nike Store) here I come!

Vital Statistics
Inspired in part by Steves mate Matt I’ve added some “for the year” stats to my blog. And as just suggested by Mike I’ll include a number of runs to-date too.
I really wish I’d kept the old spreadsheet up-to-date last year. Think I’ll start it up again for this year and slowly fill in all the blanks for the period April-Dec ‘06.
Oh Dear!
Much room for improvement. Now admittedly I’ve got a bit of a cold and it was quite windy, but, I’m not going the greatest. Went out in the dark again before tea and did think I’d gone a tad faster than the watch says. Hey ho!
For the record: just did Red Rocks loop. Slow time for this circuit.

Starting 2007 With An EasyRun
Popped out for the run in the afternoon (a grim one at that to start 2007).
As I’ve got news that I should be finally getting my allotment plot I trotted down to the site to take a quick nose. I’ll be doing things with my allotment blog soon I hope. Anyways, after spending 20 odd minutes at the plots (got chatting to someone) I trotted down Stanley Road before a hailstorm convinced me it was time to turn home for a cup of tea. Stats are from when I left the house so are a bit daft. Navman didnt get a signal.
