Nah!
..to running today.
Not feeling all there today. Bit of an off stomach and my right hand and arm is really sore - which I strongly suspect is related to using my laptop on my knee in the evenings too often.
So I went for a walk with Sarah instead for a mile or 3. Strong wind about today, though not as bad as Saturday which was an absolutely foul day in Hoylake.
Bit of a Long-un
After a day off yesterday I decided to go for a longer run today. I did my extended Caldy loop that I thought was 10 miles but as it turns out it’s a little bit shy of that. Next time I’ll run along the prom that bit more.
Happened to notice an easy landmark in Caldy Village is 6.55 km, passed in 31.05, 12.64 kph so I slowed a bit in the second half. To a degree that’s not totally surprising because it’s a bit uphill in parts on the way home with one climb a 1-in-11 for a short while.
Not too bad though and I felt reasonably strong at the end - there was still more in the tank. Tips of my toes are dead sore though. Some popular brand of Irish stout a little later, taken by mouth, should help. No? Well, I’ll try anyway.

Another 10k. Just Not That Speedy
Did another 10km run today in the quite autumnal weather. Strong wind out on the outward leg, especially on the prom.
Managed to create my own 10km circuit door-to-door. Run to the end of West Kirby prom and at the sailing club turn left (instead of right to go on Marine Lake) and run home via Banks Road. Exact distance was 10.03 km.
Just seemed to make hard work of it today for whatever reason. Still, I wasn’t knackered or looking for the finish (well not that much). The strong breeze didnt help I suppose. But its another 10km in the bag.

Around The Lake
Lovely November day for it today. Sunny, hardly any windy and about 12c too.
Went around the Marine Lake today. Managed to get my feet soaked because the sea water in the lake was lapping over the path. Lovely feeling that, soggy socks.
Here’s a photo of the back end of Marine Lake, right at the end of the prom by West Kirby Sailing Club (taken yesterday morning when I free wheeled around on my bike for an hour).
And here is a shot of the sailing club.
Not going too bad today, kept it steady. Just started to stiffen up a bit toward the end along Hoylake prom.
Might not get tomorrow with one thing and another, see how the time goes.

A Bit Lead Like Today
Went out today with heavy’ish legs after yesterdays 10km.
Got my Polar back though - that was quick, I only posted it on Tuesday ! Its working again though they didn’t actually state what the problem was. New battery and new seal and all free of charge so that’ll do for me. All it cost was the £1 something to post it to them.
Another sunny but chilly day with hardly a breath of wind. Did my Red Rocks circuit and that was enough for me today.

Managed The 10K Today
Still hungry before the off but managed to knock out 10km today (though a tad disappointed with the time).
About as chilly as yesterday but with less wind. Almost cloudless, sunny day. Started at the bottom of Hoyle Road on the prom and ran past the lighthouse to turn at the sandstone wall (that you pass in the Seaside run).
On the outward leg some chap of advancing years road his bike alongside me for a short while. Apparently his was from Maghull; gets the train to Hooton, rides along the Wirral Way to West Kirby, then along the prom to Seacombe Ferry and back home. Good for him.

Pumpkin Soup
Went out for a run today with the good intention of clocking up at least 10km.
However, as I was absolutely starving before I started and felt even more so after about a mile, I decided to cut the run short. I was heading toward Leasowe Lighthouse and beyond but turned off at the caravan park and ran back home. Stopped to chat to a mate of mine who I met in Meols.
Autumn is certainly here now…bleeding cold in the headwind down on the prom despite the sunshine, even with 2 tops and my long pants.
Pumpkin Soup? That’s what I had for lunch with toast. Homemade from an organic pumpkin from Church Farm that we acquired at a recent kids party. Actually, I’ve never had pumpkin soup before and I wasn’t too keen. But we’ve saved the seeds for a grow-our-own attempt for next year.
