Found ! Safe and Well

Thanks for all the concern fellas (well Steve & Mike really) - I’ve found my trusty Casio down the side of my bedside cabinet. That’s right, just next to my tartan slippers!!

Also posted my Polar back to Polar UK today, so I’ll wait to hear from them in the next few days. But they can sod off if they think I’ll just write my credit card details on the service card form - way too dodgy.

No running today unfortunately - too busy doing some work on our internet business today. Not a bad day to miss seeing as how it’s blowing a gale around here. Supposed to be much cooler tomorrow though not so windy - maybe autumn is here now? Think I need to do a 10 miler this week - I’ve gone a bit backwards since I had that cold and need to get back in to it now.

Is It Autumn Yet?

Corking day today for end of October. Temperature in the high teens, sunny with a bit of a breeze. So whilst I had things to do I had to go for a run just to enjoy the weather. Will be a lot colder on Wednesday I believe.

Short on time so did my Red Rocks circuit again. Felt ropey but elapsed time not too bad really.

Didn’t Do Much Today

Went out today but I didn’t really feel like it…had a banging headache.

So I just did a short circuit out along Market Street, down Stanley Road and then turned up Barton Road and back home. With the strong wind I was kind of blown along Hoylake prom. A fair bit warmer than yesterday and no rain (though it was pouring down first thing this morning).

I’ve run this circuit umpteen times and a few years ago it was probably the only road circuit that I ran (in fact the only running I did full stop). I’ve progressively got faster over the years. But todays average seems high to me so I think I’ll re-measure this one.

Not The Nicest Of Days

Noticeably cooler today, breezy and raining. Decided to go out though ‘cos it’s supposed to be really wet over the next day or so and I might not get the chance. Two tops and a pair of sexy long running bottoms today..jolly nice they are too.

Did my Red Rocks ciruit again, only went out along Market Street for a change. Still coughing and spluttering a bit but was going a little better than yesterday. Getting nice and wet in the rain should aid recovery eh?

Making Hard Work Of It

Went out today and did my Red Rocks circuit. Having not got over my cold yet I still made hard work of it. Still, even though I found it hard work it’s nice to be out in the fresh air doing a bit.

Bit of a breeze about and a little colder than of late - I wore two tops anyway just to keep my chest warm. I’ll give it another go tomorrow and see how I go.

Haven’t yet got around to loading my videos up to youtube but it’s on my list of things to do.

Liverpool Half Marathon 2007

oh no, not again!

Yep, the Liverpool Half Marathon is back and you can find out more and apply here.

Suppose I’ll have to give it another bash and see if I can better my 1hr 44 that I did this year in my one and only attempt at the distance. Sub 1-40 might be a good target to aim for.

Just need to see the back of this cold before I get back to pounding the pavements of Hoylake.

Another Easy Run

Just went out to Red Rocks and back again today taking it easy. Still coughing a bit, but not too bad. Messed about taking a few vids on the camera that I’ll load into youtube and then embed in this blog. Suspect the quality will be a bit ropey.

Off on a grand family day out tomorrow to Blackpool to test the rides (not me!) and see the lights so no more running until the weekend.

Start:13.00 ish

Dead Polar. Terrible Runner.

Decided to go out today. Cold hasn’t gone but it’s not too bad. The sun was shining and I fancied some fresh air.

The polar was a bit troublesome from the outset and wouldn’t pick up my HR for a while. Out on the run after about 6 mins I noticed that the display was corrupt and then it finally went dead. Return to factory job I think for a battery replacement (already??) or a fault fix.

I was going absolutely awful today. Really awful.

Red Rocks and back.

Coughs and sneezes…

..not only spread diseases they also stop you feeling like going for a run.

First cold of the season. Suspect it won’t be the last. And I had to buy a new laptop today so I’m feeling dead chuffed - not.

An Enjoyable Run With Mike

Met up with Mike today and we managed to clock up a few miles. Lovely, mild, autumnal weather and a steady starting pace made for an enjoyable run. As Mike predicted, the last couple of miles are harder because it’s a bit uphill. It was also a bit harder because we both picked the pace up. Must have had a good work out ‘cos my legs are now aching. I’ll have a beer soon…it might help.
