Sunday Morning Seaside Event
I ended up running (family coming along too) this months seaside event , one that didn’t appeal to as many runners as normal. A grey old morning with rain just before the start and a slight headwind to run in to.
Started off fast today and was running not that much behind the leaders for about 2/3 of a mile. I went through the mile mark in a little over 6 minutes and soon paid for it because I started to really feel it and at one point I had to slow it right down to sort my breathing out. I struggled to get in to it again after that and finished outside a ‘20′. The speed is there but the stamina is lagging behind - more training required. Never mind, more training = more cakes.
My girls said it was boring because there was nothing to see at the finish and you dont get a medal either.
Start:11.00
Duration:21:05
Distance:4.92 km
Ave speed:14.00 kph
376 kcal
HRmax=184/ave=180

Yes, perhaps too fast for the first mile. I did that once too and certainly felt the pain during the final third.
Still, you put on your trainers and did the run. One of only a few by the sounds of things.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to join you once again for the final Seaside of the Season in October.
We are still extremely busy at work, and I worked stright through lunch and until just after 6pm this evening. Two hours over already this week!
I’ve got a game tomorrow evening at Abbey Hey in Gorton, Manchester, so will not run at lunchtime.
