Riversdale Rd Loop - Almost Uneventful

After my last run on this circuit everything was going fine today. Then down on the beach a dog saw me. I didn’t think it was bothered at first. But it was. It was a kind of big wire haired kind of dog. Lots of barking to begin with so I just carried on running. Then it sort of got in front of me so I had to stop. Getting a little worried now. It barked some more and showed some teeth. Tried not to exhibit fear as I backed away and dunked my foot in a pool. As usual, the owner stands still to begin with….”Jaws darling, come to mummy, there’s a good little dog”. Eventually, she gets hold of its collar and puts the lead on.

phew…very close shave that one!

    Mike says:

The last time that happened to me, as I ran by the dog’s owner, I looked them in the face and said, “If you can’t control your dog, put it on its lead!”

The reply was, “I can control my dog. You upset him by running at him.”

So, that was that - it was quite obviously the lawful runner’s fault and not the unlawfully aggressively uncontrolled dog owner’s fault. How could their little angel be to blame?
