A Strange Run That

After a couple of days of family outings I was back on the pavements and shores of Hoylake today. Picked up a minor muscle pull in my side after messing about in our local swimming baths with my eldest - it bothered me at first then eased off.

Did my Riversdale Road loop (only clockwise) today and it turned out a bit strange (ok, I did have 3 pints of Bombardier the night before in The Ship).

First off, running along Hoylake prom some young mum obviously recognised me ‘cos she smiled and said Hi - no idea who she was (apologies if I know you!). Then I passed one of my mates vans (he sells them) that was covered in eggs (kids eh!). All was then well until I got on the beach at West Kirby. One mature lady, chatting with mobile to ear along with a bag of dog poo in same hand (lovely). Then a bloke, sort of running and hopping around the pools in the sand - very strange but he was really moving. Then a few yards further on a 3 legged dog appears. Back on to Stanley Road then with 2.7km to go. A flash Merc waits in the road whilst his electric gates open - as I run past he stares then smiles at me. Whilst I don’t know him personally I know what he does (we were once interested in buying his old house) - brain surgeon - honest ! So up Stanley Road, passing the single wolly glove on the wall that was there the other day, to home.

If only the Fullers Pride had been on tap.

Strange indeed.

    Mike says:

I’d stay off that Bombardier in the future otherwise you’ll be seeing flying pigs over Hoylake!
