10K Dead today

Fancied a longer run today. Nice day for a change - not much wind, sunny, warm and shock, horror it wasn’t raining.

Decided to do a sort of private trial and do a 10k. So, trotted down to the prom, got myself sorted and headed off toward Leasowe Lighthouse. I sort of new whereabouts the 5km split would be and I ended up just going about 100m or so past that to the sandstone wall with the turret thingy that you pass on the seaside run. Turned around and headed for home and stopped dead at 10k.

Started off well enough; 6.40 for the first mile; 19.30 for 4.45 km and about 22 something at the turn. Faded a bit though on the way back and by the time I’d done the distance I’d had more than enough. I was feeling really hungry too which didnt help.

Probably have a day off tomorrow - off on a family outing.

    Steve says:

Keep up those longer runs. That, and a bit of speedwork, will have you flying. I was going to have a look at the Capenhurst 5k tonight, but accidently did a quick one at lunch :)
