Need some brown medicine

Well, no running for a week now - still coughing my head off.

Went up to the Ship Inn in Hoylake for 3 pints of brown medicine - otherwise known as Fullers London Pride.

Came home, watched BBC News 24 for 30 mins, went to bed, started to cough again - smashing !

Seaside Run

Met up with Mike and my old mate Steve this evening for my 2nd “seaside” of the season.

As I predicted before the start, I wasn’t on top form. Started alright with a decent first mile of approx 6:15 (well that’s decent for me) but faded and I didn’t really push it to the finish.

Mike sneaked inside the 20 barrier and Steve finished a second or 3 ahead of me.

Next month here we come!

Start:19:01
Duration:21:02 (unofficial time)
Distance:4.92km

A couple of photos

This is a view of The Royal Liverpool Golf Club where the gallery stands are being erected in time for this years Open (I’ve a got a ticket for one of the four days).

Not all the green seats have been bolted on to the stand yet.

You can see the Club House in the background.This is a view of Hilbre Island taken from the end of the prom at Hoylake (en-route to Red Rocks). Thought I might as well take the opportunity to take a photo - the Open may never return for many a year.

Not much today

Well my knee that was really sore last night was fine this morning.

But, I’ve now got a sore throat and feel a bit rough. Won’t be expecting much at the seaside run tomorrow night.

Went out today but didn’t do much (take no notice of the elapsed time). Took a couple of photos that I’ll upload later.

Start:13:11
Duration:24:04
Distance: 4km approx

Red Rocks and back on a rainy Monday morning

Nice and wet first thing this morning. Rained all the way round so I got soaked. Didn’t wear my new trainers after all.

Bit of a time on feet run this one. And my shoe lace came undone so that cost me about 20 seconds or so.

More viewing galleries going up at the golf course - will take some photos this week.

Start:8:20
Duration:26:46
Distance:5.61km

412 Kcal

HRmax=176/ave=166

A treat for my feet

Bought myself a new pair of trainers today. Reduced from £100 to £55…probably last years model or something, but who cares! And £55 was an ideal amount because that’s the exact amount I got for selling those straighteners.

Nike Air Zoom Elite.

Seem like a decent pair of trainers. Soon see, as I’m planning on going for a run first thing in the morning.

Nowt today

Didn’t feel like running today. So I didn’t!

Park Loop Today

Met up with Mike today for a steady run around our (well suppose it’s “my old” now) Park Loop circuit.

Felt my left ankle a little bit.

Start:12:58
Duration:20:43

Distance:4.45 KM

340 Kcal
HRmax=181/ave=171

Nowt today

Day off today.

Stiff legs and besides I haven’t really got the time for a run today with one thing and another.

Went for my 3rd

Red Rocks and back again today.

Start:16:49
Duration:25:02 - though lost about 15secs to re-tie a shoe lace.
Distance:5.61km

395 Kcal

HRmax=191/ave=167

the max a bit on the high side for a run that wasn’t that fast. Could be tired??
